Biographical
Details
Andy was the founder member of the Hatters, back in
1994, when he and Chris started jamming in Chris's local
pub. Andy cites his musical tastes as 'everything - from punk to
classical'. He is a long time reggae enthusiast and
has recently started playing the melodica, influenced by the
great Augustus Pablo.
As well as being the band's main vocalist, Andy writes all the
songs. One of the great strengths of the Hatters is Andy's quirky
lyrics. Often tinged with political comment and irony,
these range in subject from the environment to his dislike of
television and politicians.
Andy's influences include, amongst others, Lee Perry and Ian Dury,
but he gets ideas and inspiration from anywhere.
